As part of our 9am bathhouse sessions at The Banya on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, we are launching 3 brand new experiences.
Move & Dip – Tuesday’s
A mindful yoga flow to awaken the body and prepare you for your hot and cold immersion experience. This class offers the perfect balance of strength, stretch, and softness before you transition into the bathhouse.
Breathe & Bathe – Wednesday’s
Begin your morning with a gentle, guided breath session on our beautiful upstairs sun deck. This grounding practice is designed to slow the nervous system, bring you back to basics, and ease you into your bathhouse ritual with intention and clarity.
Sculpt & Soak – Thursday’s
A dreamy, strength-forward Pilates class designed to sculpt, lengthen, and energise you on our sunlit deck. Build heat and flow through intentional movement before transitioning into the bathhouse to soak, steam, and reset with magnesium-rich waters.

WEDNESDAY MORNINGS - Breathe & Bathe 7:50am - 10:00am
Come and sit with us for a beautiful 45 minute morning guided breath class,
curated to regulate your nervous system and drop into your day,

THURSDAY MORNINGS - Sculpt & Soak 7:50am - 10:00am
A dreamy pilates class blending strength and energising flow.
Move straight into the bathhouse to soak, steam, and reset with our magnesium rich waters,
for a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating morning. All you need to bring is yourself!
We provide, blocks small towels and water to stay hydrated. Please BYO mat.
All experiences are included exclusively with our 9am bathhouse sessions only and are booked online.
To book, you can follow this link and under the ‘EXPERIENCES’ tab, select ‘Tuesday – Thursday movement & breath classes’, and select the orange coloured ad on for the class you wish to join. Once this is done, followed by selecting the date and 9am for the bathhouse time.
You can select your date on the calendar and click the 9am slot to complete your booking.
Meet our facilitators
Joey Hurl
Joey is an industry-leading breathwork facilitator and mentor, and founder of Sõmsana Breathwork.
She specialises in breathwork, visualisation techniques and nervous system regulation to create safety within the body, to optimise your health, and to help you realise your greatest dreams and desires.
“I am driven by a desire to activate joy, health and a deep remembrance in every person I work with.”
With a history of chronic anxiety, her intention is now to share the very teachings that changed my life through my classes, group programs, private one-to-one sessions, workshops and retreats.
It is Joey‘s mission to help people grow physically, spiritually and emotionally
Joey is a well know facilitator in the Northern Rivers community and we cannot wait for you to experience a class with her at The Banya.
KATY JOHNSTONE
Katy is a yoga and embodiment facilitator with over 15 years of experience guiding humans into deeper relationship with their being, body, breath, and inner knowing. Her teaching blends grounded physical Hatha & Vinyasa inspired asana practice with the deeper threads of Yogic philosophy, ritual, and presence.
With a background in Sports Science and 13+ years of somatics studies, Katy‘s classes weave body, breath, intuitive movement, Tantric & Vedic philosophy, nervous system awareness, and earth-based practice into slow, strong, feeling-led sequences… Rather than chasing peak poses.
Katy guides students toward presence, inner listening, and embodied remembrance, where sensation becomes the teacher & stillness, finally, becomes friend.
Expect a beautiful, ceremonial atmosphere that feels steady, devotional, and alive.
Kathleen schlenker
Kathleen brings a fresh, vibrant and energising class ahead of your soak.
Kathleen’s love of movement began with ballet, where she discovered the connection between strength, grace and flow.
Introduced to Pilates during her dance training to support and strengthen her body, she developed a deep appreciation for mindful movement and quickly fell in love with the method.
After completing her Mat and Reformer training with Barre Body in 2024, she has been sharing her passion for fun yet challenging sequencing, continuous flow, and an approach that feels strong, intentional and energising.
